Background
OCL is the flag ship company of ‘Dalmia Group’ of companies, set up and operating from eastern India. OCl Cement Plant ,also known as the Bengal Cement Plant is located in Paschim Medinipur, West Bengal and has started operation since 2014. The organization has a CSR vision of changing the lives of their immediate stakeholders.
Intervention
The Bengal Cement Plant conducts an assortment of CSR activities that are targeted at the immediate stakeholders of the organization. OCL envisages on augmenting the living conditions of the host communities.
Treasures of Innocence along with Zivanta Analytics evaluated the as-is situation and the demands of the host communities to increase the bouquet of livelihood programmes available to the community.
Services
All the households in the CSR villages were evaluated and HHs with livelihood distress were identified across the CSR villages. Existing SHGs, youth clubs, setup farmer groups were identified to run diversification projects with them. Recommendations as to the various livelihood opportunities were also suggested.
