Background

Save the Children completed a three year project to improve learning outcomes in 22 Zila Parishad Schools in Nashik benefiting 3600 children

Intervention

The project interventions included, (i) enhance academic performance of the children with focus on languages (English and Marathi), Mathematics and Computers in 22 Government Schools, (ii) support formation and strengthening of the local community institutions for improved school functioning and management, (iii) strengthen existing academic support system for sustainability of the project interventions in Sinnar block.

Services

The entire implementation process was mapped and the key learning on what worked and what did not was gleaned. Extensive field work involving interviews with HM, teachers, student groups, SMC, parents, donors and other stakeholders was undertaken. The output of the project mapping exercise has informed the design of similar projects in Save the Children.
